Nymiva Medical & Safety Disclaimer
Effective date: 25 August 2026 Last updated: 25 August 2026
You must accept this Disclaimer to use Nymiva. It sits alongside the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. Where the Terms describe our respective legal responsibilities, this document describes what Nymiva is, what it is not, and what you are agreeing to do before and while you train.
Nothing here removes a right you have that cannot lawfully be removed. Section 22.1 of the Terms lists those rights, and they continue to apply in full.
1. Nymiva is training guidance, not medical care
Nymiva is a fitness and endurance-training service. It is not a medical device, a diagnostic tool, or a substitute for advice from a doctor, physiotherapist, dietitian, or other qualified professional.
Nymiva does not diagnose, treat, cure, monitor, or prevent any disease, injury, or condition, and it is not intended to. Nothing it shows you is a medical finding or a medical opinion. That includes a readiness reading, a fatigue or load figure, a threshold estimate, a heart-rate or power zone, a flagged symptom, and anything the AI coach writes.
If you have a health question, ask a qualified professional. If you have already been given medical or rehabilitation instructions, follow those rather than Nymiva when the two differ.
2. Get medical clearance before you start
Training loads the heart, lungs, muscles, tendons, bones, and joints, and strenuous exercise carries a genuine risk of injury and, rarely, of serious cardiac events.
Speak to a doctor before starting or significantly increasing training, and in particular if any of the following is true of you:
- you have, or have had, a heart condition, chest pain, an irregular heartbeat,
high or unstable blood pressure, or a stroke;
- you have diabetes, asthma, epilepsy, a bleeding or clotting disorder, or
another chronic condition;
- you have a musculoskeletal injury, joint problem, or condition that exercise
could worsen;
- you are pregnant, recently gave birth, or are being treated for a
reproductive or hormonal condition;
- you are recovering from illness, surgery, or a hospital stay;
- you take medication that affects heart rate, blood pressure, breathing,
balance, blood sugar, or hydration;
- you have been treated for, or are at risk of, an eating disorder, disordered
eating, or low energy availability;
- you are over 40 and have not trained regularly for some time; or
- you are unsure, for any reason, whether exercise is safe for you.
By accepting this Disclaimer you confirm that you are medically able to undertake the training you choose to do, and that you will get clearance where any of the above applies.
3. Stop, and get help
Stop exercising immediately and seek urgent medical attention if you experience chest pain or pressure, pain spreading to the arm, neck or jaw, severe breathlessness out of proportion to the effort, an irregular or racing heartbeat at rest, fainting or near-fainting, sudden severe headache, confusion, loss of vision, sudden weakness or numbness on one side, or any symptom that frightens you.
In an emergency call your local emergency number. In the European Union that is 112. Nymiva is not an emergency service, is not monitored in real time, and cannot summon help. Never use Nymiva, the AI coach, or any support channel to report a medical emergency.
Stop the session and consult a professional for pain that is sharp, one-sided, worsening, or that changes how you move; for pain that persists after training; for a suspected fracture, tear, or concussion; for signs of heat illness or hypothermia; or for illness with fever.
4. What the AI coach is
The AI coach explains your training, answers questions about your own data, and can propose changes to your plan. It is a language model working over your training data. It can be wrong, can be confidently wrong, and can miss context that matters.
It is not a clinician and must never be used as one. It cannot diagnose you, cannot tell you whether a symptom is serious, cannot advise on medication, and cannot decide whether you are fit to train. Where you describe something that may be a medical concern, Nymiva is designed to tell you to seek professional advice, and that is the whole of what it can do about it. Treat anything it says about health as a prompt to ask a professional, never as an answer.
Read what it proposes before you act on it, exactly as you would read a suggestion from any other source.
5. Data, estimates, and their limits
Nymiva's readings are estimates built from the data it receives. They depend on devices we do not control and on information you enter yourself.
- Sensor data can be wrong. Heart-rate straps drop, power meters drift, GPS
wanders, and a wearable's sleep or recovery figure is itself an estimate.
- Thresholds, zones, fitness, fatigue and readiness figures are **models, not
measurements**. They describe a pattern in your data; they do not measure your body.
- Missing or inaccurate information you provide will produce plans that do not
suit you.
- A favourable reading is not a clearance to train. A readiness figure does not
know that you are ill, injured, dehydrated, underfed, or grieving. How you feel overrules anything on the screen.
6. Where you train, and what you use
You choose your routes, surfaces, weather, traffic, water conditions, altitude, equipment, and training partners. Nymiva does not inspect them and does not know their condition.
You are responsible for training in conditions that are safe for you, for obeying traffic and access rules, for wearing appropriate protective equipment, for the roadworthiness of your bicycle and the state of your kit, and for never entering open water, mountain terrain, or extreme conditions beyond your competence. Route, surface, elevation and terrain information in Nymiva is derived from map data and uploaded files and may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong.
7. Fuelling, hydration, and body composition
Any information Nymiva provides about carbohydrate, fluid, sodium, energy availability, or body composition is general fitness information, not dietetic or medical advice, and is not a treatment for any condition.
Nymiva is not a weight-loss service and must not be used to pursue a low body weight. If you are affected by disordered eating, low energy availability, absent or irregular periods, or a related concern, please seek professional support; those signals are ones Nymiva is designed to surface to you, not to treat.
8. Not for everyone
Nymiva is for adults. Do not use it if you are under 18, and do not use it to direct the training of a child.
Do not rely on Nymiva to manage a diagnosed condition, to carry out a rehabilitation programme, or in place of supervised care.
9. Accepting ordinary training risk
Exercise carries risks that cannot be removed, including muscle strain, tendon and joint injury, falls, collisions, overuse injury, heat and cold illness, dehydration, and, rarely, serious cardiac events.
By using Nymiva you acknowledge those ordinary risks and accept responsibility for the training you choose to do, including your decision to start, continue, or stop any session.
This section does not, and is not intended to, exclude or limit any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by an act or omission for which Nymiva is legally responsible. Where a court finds any part of this section unenforceable, the remainder continues to apply.
10. Questions
Write to [email protected], or use the Contact page in the app. Support cannot answer medical questions and will tell you to speak to a professional.
